ABOUT Me

Julia Mendoza is a college graduate from New Mexico State University with a bachelor's degree in digital filmmaking and a minor in dance. She currently resides in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Her passion for film, photography, and dance all sparked at a young age. Julia began her dance career at Verdi Academy of Dance where she began training in classical ballet and modern dance. She trained through the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum for seventeen consecutive years. When she began school at NMSU she joined the Contemporary Dance Theater and Hip Hop Ensemble, which are dance companies. Her love for film and photography sparked in middle school after attending a film/T.V. competition in Los Angeles, California and seeing the winning music video. She then produced an entire news show in eight hours and won fourth in the nation at 17 years old. When Julia arrived at NMSU she was able to find her love for storytelling using real stories and experiences with creative twists and was able to create many projects. She also has had the chance to experiment combining different mediums of visual art, which led her to continue all three of her passions. Shortly after graduating college she began digitally drawing as a hobby in light of her love for anime. She decided to share her art with the world and create anime/Japanese style artworks on stickers, clothing, and more. She believes there is no better feeling than screening your work or putting your work out there to see what you’ve created. Her goal is to show that art can be much more than what it is perceived to be. Let's talk anime.
